RIP Amy Winehouse

Sigh...
Not really a surprise, and it was always easy to make fun of her, but this is sad. When she had it together, she was a hell of a singer. Remember, kids: drugs are not the answer.

At the end of the day it was always a race between

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I'm sorry, but I don't consider this a tragedy.  She was just another celebrity more famous for her drug addictions than for any talent.  A close friend was killed in Afghanistan by a roadside bomb while doing his job as a soldier, and I didn't see one mention of the attack on the news. >:(

I'm with davysims on this one. Good men and women are dying every day fighting for the rights of other people and some alcoholic drug addict gets more air time ::)
Amy Winohouse is getting more air time here in Britain at the moment than the terrible massacre in Norway... that shows how totally pathetic the media are >:(

Bummer. Never a huge fan, but a life cut short, regardless of the circumstance, is always tragic.

Amy Winehouse? I didn't even like her music at all

but to me she wasn't a criminal either ,I'm not happy for this ,its a tragic lost when someone at barely 27 dies.

I can't make jokes or laugh about any deaths, and less if a young person who only crime its cause damage to him(her)self

I seriously Don't know what to say. I was never Amy's fan I would hum/whistle her songs but i was/am never really a fan do hers. But Still I'm 13 and I would hate to die and people make fun of me but on the other hand, millions of people die every day fighting, in pain and Sickness e.t.c And I don't see them all over the news. Amy had a chance to stop. She did not and she paid the price. Everything you do is dangerous But doing drugs excessively Is practically Begging for death. But I'm sure this is not the last super star to die a horrible death from drugs.  :-/ But we also have to think about family and friends who have lost her and that is even worse. But this shows that even the biggest of stars are only human. Make the most out of your lives.

Amy Winehouse inquest records verdict of misadventure

[quote]The singer Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning after a drinking binge following a period of abstinence, an inquest has heard.

The 27-year-old Grammy award-winner was more than five times over the legal drink-drive limit when she was found dead at her home in Camden, north London, on 23 July.

She had 416mg of alcohol per decilitre in her blood, enough to make her comatose and depress her respiratory system. Police recovered three vodka bottles

Sometimes it amazes me just how much alcohol and drug abuse the human body can take, over a long period of time, before it finally gives up the fight!

I used to be surprised and disappointed by her use of bad language when she first started out; but ignoring that, she developed into an excellent singer after a while.
