Morbid Angel-1996
Cannibal Corpse-1996
I saw a lot of the old rock 'n roll stars many years ago. They used to put on variety shows with so many different artistes & tour the dance halls & cinemas around the country. I always regretted not going to see Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran & the Beatles when I had the chance. I saw the Kinks, Searchers, Yardbirds & a lot of the British 60s groups. Some of them played regularly in the local dance halls before becoming famous.
Since then I haven't been to that many. Dr Hook & the Medicine Show were excellent.
The Everly Brothers reunion concert at Brighton in 1984 was technically faultless but very disappointing. It was the penultimate performance at the end of a long tour. There was no support act & they were on stage for less than 1 hour with no encores. (Mind you, they'd performed most of their big hits in that time. The average record lasted less than two minutes back then.)
One of the best was the legendary Crickets when they last visited my home town of Worthing. This would have been about 10 years ago & they were absolutely brilliant.Mark Knopfler a couple of years ago....The Dire Straits concert I never made it to
The Dire Straits concert at Wembley in 1992 was the best concert I've ever attended or ever likely to.
