Very sad indeed.  At the time of Sgt. Pepper's release, there might have been some story about how the "Lucy" tune title came about, but I don't recall any.  The LSD connatation became apparent immediately, I think Paul denied any connection, saying it was just a coincidence.   Perhaps it was, perhaps it wasn't.  Still a cool tune with great lyrics.
