I think that the public is only interested in this sort of thing when it involves a "celebrity". If an ordinary person had been found dead in similar circumstances I doubt we would know anything about it or be discussing it here.

I don't know Doug, I think if some common person was found hanging upside down from the rafters by his testicles and dressed only in a Dracula cape might just warrant a headline or two..... ;)

I figured I'd beat Mark to the comment....lmao

My girl used to work with him. she is in the film industrie in Toronto. When he lived in Toronto doing the new kung-fu. My girl said that he was drunk most of the time. That they would have to pick him up at his house and he would always answer the door nude and drunk most times. And she also noted that he seemed a bit crazy and was batteling depression and had some social issues wich is the case with most celebrities. . . thats just what she told me. Still pretty sad to what happened .

If a corporate accountant from New York were to wind up this way, I can't say that I would feel particularly bad, unless I knew him, or someone that I care about knew him.

With a celebrity, there are those of us who "knew him" in some sense of the words.  After all, his characters in Kung Fu and Kill Bill have influenced me to a degree.  At least as much as a friend from high school would have.  And if I heard that a friend from high school had died, I would be upset.
