Anyone else see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 yet?

Postby Isak922 » Fri May 25, 2007 6:55 pm

Amazing movie. In my opinion, easily the best of the series.

Some say it was "hard to follow" story wise, I had no difficulty at all.

The CGI graphics were amazing as usual, and plenty of twists and turns throughout the movie.

Really had me on the edge of my seat for the whole thing... Especially that ending sequence  :o

If it were any more awesome, I think my head might have exploded from awesomeness.

was supposed to see it on thursday. Got our own theatre screen booked jsut for work 34 people allowed in, $20 food voucher each, it was great, or it was going to be. Problem was, an hour before we go there, the entire grid that the cinema sits on suffered a complete power failure, and still wasn't on when our session was supposed to start.

WE got vouchers for another session, plus another $20 for food as well. Hopefully get to see it tomorrow maybe.

I did! Great movie, IMO it IS the best of the series. Great effects, good action. It was a little hard to follow at times. The ending sequence is the best part!

Just goes to show, never take notice of the critics, they are panning it left, right and center ::) Personally I am looking forward to seeing it.

I would really like to see Pirates 3. SP3 wasn't bad, although it had holes in the plot, paced to slow, and a couple of other things.

Went and saw this movie finally after the little debacle mentioned earlier lol.

Well worth the wait, it was magnificent visually. The opening sequence made you want to sing along. The ending was wow, and neatly tied up all the unanswered questions

Definately go and see it if you can

Seen it yesterday.

And 'though I missed part two I could follow the "how's and why's" pretty well.

Nice effects and sequences, 'though some parts were simply too schmalzy or stretched.

Ill probably be shot down in flames for this, but here goes.... ::)

One of the characteristics of the first two pirates films for me was consistent, fast flowing action. I think the third sort of failed in this? it seemed that all the action was concentrated at the end, and parts that didnt need to be too long were stretched out until they became boring. The special effects were good, and i think the plot may have been had it not been stretched out- but for me it just wasnt what i expected from a "pirates of the carribean" film
anyway, theres my input ;)

cheers

Actually, I thought it was kind of weak too.  I did like the conclusion, but the story line was just too heavy, and WAY too many characters have been added over three films to try to keep up with all of them.  The whole 'Calypso' thing was WAY contrived.  It was like they needed to do SOMETHING with Tia Dalma so they came up with this and after the big build up they gave it, it turned out to be nothing,  She just goes away and that's it?

Add to that the multiple Jack Sparrows (a sure sign of desperation in any plot) and the whole thing turns into an over-hyped nothing.  The whole thing seemed like they were desperate to come up with SOME conclusion and were trying to stretch a weak story out as long as possible.

Hmmm Kiera  ;) ;)

I'll have to wait until it's on Sky pay per view, no cinema going for us at the moment with the boys.
