I have a house full of musical instruments of all sorts, from Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Modern, which I play every day, including those represented here...>>>

Looks like they were just bringing the free beer for the band... "'Ey, we're gettin' paid tonight after all!"  :D

I can remember at least one gig where we had to hunt down the proprietor to collect our money...  ::)

Great stuff, Doug- I hadn't seen that yet, I think. Matching turtlenecks... I could rarely be counted on to wear a shirt at all... :D

Speaking of which, I believe I posted a pic of myself  thumping the ol' tubs in a semi-godawful college cover band eons ago, but... oh, that's too bad... I can't find it.
Oh well.  ;D

The Pianoforte is the best practice tool for learning music in general... :)...!

I'm a violinist (and I hate Pianos........piano sonatas have to be the dullest pieces of "classical" music ever)

Now....I'd better learn the 2nd Violin part to Beethovens 7th before orchestra on tuesday :D

The second violin part to Beethovens 7th isn't too bad if I remember rightly. Now if you want a challenge for second violin parts try 3 hours of Strauss waltzes (sober)...... thank god I wasn't .... sober that is!!  ;D ;D ;D

Totally agree! I played the keyboard and it helped a whole lot on recognizing notes in general... I'm returning to it...

...good-for-you, Alonso... ;)...!

The advantage of a keyboard, is that it is laid out horizontally in front of you, and therefore it is easy to practice, and recognise the spacing of notes for Major and Minor, etc, scales and chords, and remember them, to aid you in playing other instruments which require the same intervals...;)...!

My first musical instrument, almost 70 years ago, was my Mothers upright Pianoforte, and constantly playing and taking lessons on it, has enabled to to play almost every other instrument, (which I do)... :-*...!

I still continue with playing and practicing on my various keyboards to keep myself "in tune", in between playing my other various instruments... ;)...!

Paul... 8-)...!

P.S. Piano practice doesn't help "Drummers" very much... :'(...!

...LOL... ;D...!
