Thought you would be more Radio 4 with your advanced years Fozzer ;D

Matt

I am an avid Radio 4 listener, but after the 1 o'clock news has ended, the dreaded "Archers" is likely to modify my sensitive brain at 2 PM if I don't rush to switch  the radio off....
...or turn over to Radio 2 and suffer the unending cringing wetness of Steve Wright "in the bleedin' afternoon".... >:(...!

Normally it's the end of my BBC radio listening until the Radio 4 news starts at 5 PM...:)...!
...then the dreaded "Archers" repeats all over again at 7 PM...
...and I throw myself out of the upstairs bedroom window..... :'(...!

Paul... ;)...!

LOL... ;D...!

For anyone like me, who can remember, (hundreds of years ago), when "The Archers" used to be an interesting and highly educational Radio program relating to Farming practice at the time.
Dealing with livestock, markets, agriculture, farm maintenance, hedging, ditching,...and excellent tips on reading the weather, etc, etc.... ;D...!

Now, the daft program is just another version of the awful, mind numbing, brain destroying  television programs like Brookside, East Enders, Coronation Street, etc, you name it the Television folks put it on....trust me...  :o...!

..."The Archers" now has nothing whatsoever to do with country folk and farming... >:(...!
...It's a load of loud argumemnative crap...!

BBC Radio is rapidly going down the toilet, I tell you...>:(...!

I E-Mail them every day to tell them...
...but they ignore me...
..as you would expect... ;)...!
...arse... >:(...!

Paul "Where have all the Country Folk gone?" Fosbery... 8)...!

P.S. It's all you folks that actually pay for a Television Licence that encourage the BBC to shower the rest of we Radio Listeners with all this awful dross... >:(...!

(Many years ago the Radio Licence (50 Pence per year) was a seperate Licence which we oldies used to happily purchase each year to enjoy our Radio listening)... ;)...!

...Jeeeessss...I feel better now... ;D...!

You hit the nail on the head Fozzer. Brookside on the radio. They even had a lesbian kiss in the radio a while back. They must have been desparate for ratings.

Fozzer, I have just found the right site for you.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/archers/postcards/

You can send email postcards of Ambridge to all your friends.

Here is the archers screen saver.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/archers/screensaver/

And best of all, you can get a daily email the synopsis of the current episode into your mailbox - making it nice and easy to keep in touch with your favourite programme during the holidays!

Then, every Friday evening we they send you information about new content on our pages, news of Archers actors. Plus, other Ambridge snippets.

Always will to help,

Matt

Last time I listened to the Archers old Walter Gabriel was alive & kicking. "Well me old pal, me old beauty". They don't make 'em like that any more. :'(

Do they still have the omnibus edition on Sunday mornings?

Yes, and the only reason I know the answer to that question, is if I ring my mother when it is on, I am likely to be written out of my parents will.
