Finished "Fall of Berlin" by Anthony Read and David Fisher earlier this year.  It was very very good, and had accurate retelling of the war and its' cultural and miltary affects on Berlin, as well as the Battle of Berlin.

I Followed with "Fatherland" by Robert Harris, which is an excellent book about what might've happened if Germany forced America into a Cease-fire and had essentially "Won the War."  I Highly recommend it, especially to those of you who like 1984-esque books.

I'm currently reading "Downfall: The End of the Imperial Japanese Empire" by Richard B. Frank.  Some of the events before the war with Japan, and then it deals entirely with the last few months of the Pacific War, and what might have happened had we gone in to Invade (Operation Olympic and Coronet and so on.).  It's well-written but very factual (think lots of statistics) so it can be a tad tedious at times.

Also, throw in Jane Eyre for my English class right now too.

Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh is my latest read. Also plodding steadly along with the Master and Commander series.

My biggest recommendation though is Riotous Assembly by Tom Sharpe. Funniest book I've ever read. ;D

DAMN! Where there pages missing???
I can't read that fast, usually takes me a week or so to read through a average sized book, hell I couldn't finish a Cliff Notes book in a day!  ;D

Dunno there were about 428 pages... Gonna get the Bennini mystery today.. I'm quite a fast reader and so is my sister.. she read the latest harry potter ( over 600 pages) in one day

Mmm...I love reading...I finished 3/4 of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in 2.5 hours...don't believe me? Sorry I can't prove it...but just ask my parents...I got the book at 11 p.m. on July 16th when the book came out in the States...and by 2 a.m,  I was nearing the end...Oh well...I read Da Vinci Code a while back...like 4-5 months ago...

I love reading...one of my favorite pass times besides FS and...um...other stuff :P

I don't read much anymore, but I did get a nice chunky book about the history of aviation - entitled "Flight - 100 years of aviation" written by R.G. Grant, lots of info in here :D

Other than that, no, I haven't read any good books lately ;) :D

I used to read like that. But I take my time now. Take Moby Dick for example, I started that christmas day 2003 and have only got to chapter 14. Admittedly I havn't read any of it since 2004 cause it's boring but you get the picture. ;D

So I now put this question forward:

Ashar, what happens in the first 3/4 of Harry Potter?

;D

If I read good books I read fast! Read the first three Harry Potter books in two days.... If it wasn't for the fact that four wasn't out yet I would have read 4!
