Movie or Song

I saw a movie where a young boy was on a hill looking out over his town . There were Spitfires and Mustangs flying across in front of him at eye level.
I dont know what language he was singing in. I didnt have to know to get the real meaning and a feeling from that music and song that I had never had before or since.
I didnt see the start of the movie and they didnt show the credits at the end of the movie.
If anyone knows this song or movie please post it here.

I always got a kick out of that movie when they have the P-51s flying missions in Japan

... P-51s did operate in Japan. I believe they flew off of Iwo Jima.
