...Drum Sets...

Postby legoalex2000 » Sun Feb 20, 2005 10:53 pm

I wanted to ask who else is a drummer besides me & Rimshot
if you are, what set do you got?

Rimshot - how many sets you got?

I'm running 2 sets,
1: Pearl Export
   >3 toms
   >single base
   >Sabian HHX
        >16' Dark Crash
        >21' Groove Ride
        >8' bright splash
   >Zildjian Hi-Hat
        >Titanium X ?'

2: Roland TD-6S
http://www.rolandus.com/products/detail ... id=TD%2D6S
   >1 V-drum (snare)
   >3 toms
   >1 crash (inputs for 2)
   >1 ride
   >single base
   >hi-hat w/ separated pedal

I love the V-drums, they are the top of the line, more rebound than rubber, but i only could afford just the snare at the moment.

I got a Tama Superstar back in the early 90's. It was my kit for many years when I played in my original band. Played places like The Limelight in Manhattan, Sundance, etc.... Made a CD that Metal blade Records paid for entitled, "Best Un-signed Band in America"!

I bought the original 5 piece with no cymbal for around $1,800, I think. After that I just saved every penny I could and bought the rest piece by piece!

OMG! Fly, you got the complete ensemble! I don't think i'd ever get that many drums onto one set. hence why i bought the electronic.

Rimshot, ever tired Vic Firth 5AN's. they're lighter and better than any 5A's I've seen. (have to say, better than zildjian's sticks)

I saw those in Guitar Center. The guy there said for my style of playing, I should go with Vic Firths "American Classic" Metal N. I just took the name off the stick, as I don't remember what I bought. :P Those two pairs are specialty sticks I bought just to try out, and I've liked them so far. I bought them at clinics hosted by Kenny Arnoff and Travis Barker, so I felt obliged to get a pair. And I like them. :) I generally use 5As that are like, five bucks. ::) I got a big ol' bag of 20 pairs for 30 bucks which was cool. :)

And Dave, is that a mullet I spy?! :o :o :o :P

not too bad.. 20 for $30.

ever heard of Drum Pad, in Palatine, IL?

they got's a whole wall the length of the store dedicated to sticks, and a whole other building dedicated to drumsets. tops anything guitar center has. although i bought i electronic for less than what drumpad was selling it for.
