Wow I didnt know they had come out with a new one.  I think they've been going downhill on the last few albums; not producing anything like they used to, but its still good metal.  Thanks for the heads up, I'll check it out :)

LOL!! Reminds me of another great 80's metal band that started to suck after getting sober, Metallica LOL!!

I have yet to hear the new one will have to check it out, last good album they had was Coundown to Extiniction.

Hey Ronnie James Dio has a new one!!! (will get it tommorow) I can remember back in 1987 when good old Ronnie said he was retireing, but no, still cranking out the tunes, he knows there is a need for real Heavy Metal! ;), hard to belive this man was in his first band in 1955!!!!!!

I just got "The System Has Failed" today (less than 2 hours ago in fact...I got off work early enough to go get it).

I have not listened yet, but I will soon.

I don't think Megadeth have failed to put out quality product in recent years. I think you have to look at it as the band evolving and trying new things while at the same time kicking your A$$. I know people who didn't like "Cryptic Writings" or "Risk"...but those are great albums!

As far as Ronnie James Dio...the man is over 60 now and can still put the kids to shame! I saw him open for Iron Maiden last year on the Give Me Ed...Till I'm Dead Tour, and he got the house going for sure! He puts on a great show! Which is more than I can say for poor Motorhead. They were first up and the house just starting to fill up and the sun hadn't even set.

Well I got both Megadeth and Dio and must say it had been awhile since I got ahold of some decent music that wasn't recorded in the 80's ;D
Good to see real Metal slowly returning! Madien puts out a killer recent release, now Dio and yes this Megadeth album puts some previous to shame, Judas Priest is back with Halford with new album up coming! Metal is looking up!!!
Krokus has a newer release so do the Scorpions now if we can get the radio back all will be well!!! ;D

And the sad news, my all time favorite band I have followed since I was 5 (31 years!) KISS is nothing but a washed up cover band, with only two original (not too mention greedy bastards) and two imposters dressed as Ace and Peter playing the songs that rocked my world will soon probably be playing county fairs and local bars soon.

I want nothing more than to see metal back at the forefront of popular music (and I don't mean bands like Slipknot or Linkin Park).

I think the recent releases by Maiden, now Megadeth (and Dio it seems) are a positive turn in the world of heavy metal. It's a good sign, but if you lived where I live (Southern California), you might tend to be a bit pessimistic about it. Turn on the local "metal" station, and all you hear is Linkin Park and Mudvayne and Nickelback and other similar bands. They relegate things like Dio or Maiden to the "All-you-can-eat-80s" at lunch time.

Then there's the Rap. It's everywhere here, and for someone who would rather listen to a toilet flush 20 times, it can be very discouraging.

Real Metal is not popular here at all. I sometimes wish I lived in Europe where metal is still appreciated.

I have listened to "The System Has Failed" and it's Megadeth back to form. I hear a little bit of the writing style Mustaine has taken to on a couple of previous albums, but it works for me! I am glad they are back (even if Jr. isn't there) because it means Metal may still have a future.

Is Dio's album good? I always enjoyed his stuff...

Yes! I like it a lot!! Dio is one who has maintained his style and not bowed to the "Suits" in a effort to get radio airplay, something real metal bands do. Although he had a album that tried to go there "Lock up the Wolves" I think the name was can't remember because I threw it out, LOL! I have always loved his stuff, not many musicians that can right good songs that tell a story and that is what I like a story, Maiden is another fine example not only do thier songs tell stories but a lot also are decent history lessons (Two Minutes Too Midnight, Rime of the Ancient Mariner for example, also Aces High) (album I'm currently listening too :) )

As for the radio as mentioned many times it sucks! Funny I now live in TN land of Country Music, but there are few "country" stations left, now over run by Rap and Classic Rock , Pop and that Nu-Metal crap.
Which is sad, "Classic Rock that really Rocks" is the slogan for the local station "Over 30 years rocking Knoxville!"
Now I might be wrong but I do belive in 30 years more than 6 albums have been recorded but I might be mistaken since they only play a handful of artist everyday 24/7.
This is what gets my goat, some artist bitch and complain about people stealing thier songs via the internet, how they are losing money. Maybe who they need to bitch at is radio, the way at one time was the soul advertising for a band, get the song played on the air and the record sold!
I listen to the radio and all I hear is corperate crap or songs that have been over played so much that I wouldn't want to buy the album.
A good point is the above mentioned station that "Rocks Knoxville" was doing this huge promotion for 38 Special who was playing none other than the County Fair (LOL!) the whole time leading up to it they would feature songs by them, never once mentioning or playing any songs from thier new album! If it wasn't for the fact that I seen it on the shelf passing by I would have never known they had a new album! But yesterday the day of the show the station had the band in studio and talked them up about how awesome the new album is and they played a few tracks and how everyone loves it, Now does this band really belive this crap, they never play any of the new songs!! If the new songs were played on the radio they wouldn't be putting on a show in a amimal infested TN County Fair, LOL!!! ;D
Point is the radio sucks! And has since the early 80's I remember the time when a DJ was just that, played what they wanted or what the listener wanted to hear, that was the good times! Friday night bunch of people get together and call up the station making requests, the time when Headbanges Ball was the thing to watch .
Now it is turn on the radio and guess which band that is, can be fun because they all sound the same, I can't tell them apart, sometimes more difficult than watching Jepordy!
