The Late Kurt Cobain...

Postby Whitey » Tue Dec 30, 2003 6:08 am

Been researching this while I was gone too...

Before I always assumed Cobain was just a junkie that blew his head off.  However, once I read into it, there are some pretty suspicious things surrounding his death.  Look at this website:  http://www.cobaincase.com/ .  For example, Cobain had had three times a lethal dose of heroin injected before he 'shot himself'.  This amount of morphine would have rendered him incabable of shooting himself.  The investigator at the website also discovered his wife was in a plot to have him killed...

interesting
If someone with multiple personality disorder threatens suicide, is it a hostage situation?

I have heard a lot of speculation on various theorys surrounding Kurt's death, but I doubt anything will ever come of any of them, he's dead and the only one's who give a crap are his fan's, authorities are not going to devote any time or resources to investigating the death of a heroin junkie/Seattle grunge musician who by popular belief killed himself a decade ago after previous unsuccessful attempts at suicide.

Oh dear the conspiracy theorists are on the loose again. I remember the news on this (being an old codger), and the police had to smash the door down as all the doors and windows were locked, and as I remember the doors still had the keys in them. So either Santa came and did it and then escaped up the chimney..... or he did himself.
Personally I never liked Nirvana, or Mr. Cobain, but the lyrics to some of their songs did touch nerves with people of my generation. Basically the guy was a junkie and that is that. You can build a tolerance to almost anything. I can eat about 18 times as much chocolate at one sitting as anyone I know, and NOT spew ;)

I'm with Ozzy on this.
I too never liked Nirvana or Kurt Cobain.
Everybody talks about what a awesome songwriter he was,
I never heard a speck of songwriting skill!
Smells like teen spirit? WHAT? A song about deoderant?
About the only thing that he had done for the music world was open doors for other crap like Pearl Jam.
Another group who lacks the least bit of talent.
Or vice versa, don't really know or care who opened the door for who, either way "grunge" sucked and still does!
My opinion and mine only!!
Jim Morrison- not only  a songwriter but a poet! Sure some of his stuff doesn't make sense at first but you have to think a little to get it. Nirvana you could think for years and still make nothing of it!
Once again my opinion!

Well, apparently, Smells Like Teen Spirit is 'an attack of the apathy of our own generation'. ;)

Music was Cobains way of explaining his feelings.  Being orphaned as a kid and not having a great childhood means you don't have great feelings, so his music was never happy, but is full of feelings.  When I listen to You Know You're Right I can almost feel the pain he describes.

I wouldn't call myself a Nirvana fan either, but I do own the greatest hits album, BTW.  I don't really care whether he killed himself or not, that happened when I was only about 6 years old. :P  The heroin would've killed him eventually anyway.

Okay, I remember when this all happened, and I was sort of sad that he was dead, but at the time it didn't affect me.  Now that I am older, and have listened to his music I understand the devastation it caused his fans.  I mourn the death of Cobain, but it isn't something I am overly concerned with.

That being said, I have a "conspiracy theory" on his death.

From the time Nevermind (their second release) came out, Cobain was noted as a true heroin addict in the circles that followed his life.  Courtney Love was also an addict.  Following the death of Cobain, Courtney never seemed overly concerened about it.  In fact (from my point of view) she seemed strangely detached.

I believe that Courtney DID have a hand in his death, but was by no means the one who shot him, or was even there at the time of his death.

My speculation is that they were sitting around shooting heroin that day and got into some sort of spat.  I think Courtney was merely tapping (shooting heroin in small amounts) while Cobain was "banging", meaning shooting heroin excessively and frequently.  Since he had been shooting for awhile, he had a higher tolerance, hence the massive amount found in his system.  I can say from experience that the more you shoot up, the harder it is to get off.

Courtney then left, and Cobain was distraught enough with his life that he put the shotgun in his mouth.  Any number of heroin users will understand the depression that can set in when a person is already feeling bad and starts banging to feel better.  In that case, it only makes you feel worse and worse.

In conclusion, Courtney didn't kill him, but I think she deffinitely played a part in his suicide.
