The name of the golf course was not immediately known.

Timing could not have been better for the six-step cabin door to fall from the aircraft and land on the 16th fairway of the golf course at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hallandale Beach.

The door was discovered on the course around 5:30 p.m. on one of two days each year when it's closed to play while the greens are groomed.

You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I don't understand what's gone wrong with it. - George Hanson, 1969

"The door fell off shortly after the aircraft, carrying two pilots, took off, according to Kathleen Bergen, spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration."

Helps if you have some stewards who actually know how to use the aircraft doors

While I was stationed at Charelston AFB. Before I went to work installing QEC kits on new C-17 aircraft engines fresh from Pratt, then installing em, I worked thrust reversers on the TF-33s on the then phasing out C 141s. I had a pillot side windscreen set atop an old cable spool in my dorm room as a coffee table. Quite the conversation piece. I also still have a gear box cover from an ADG of a 141 I still use as an ash tray ;D
