* Helicopter tail rotors are naturally drawn toward trees, stumps, rocks, etc.
While it may be possible to ward off this event some of the time, it cannot, despite the best efforts of the crew, always be prevented.

Interesting tidbit for you...
You'll notice there are historic aircraft museums, but no historic helicopter museums... ::) ;)

If you've ever been in a combat situation (specifically in Nam); you typically would be riding a steel helmet to keep from losing you family jewels while doing a helo insertion under fire.

The pucker factor in these situations is multiplied so drastically that you can jump out of the helo with your helmet firmly suctioned to your ass.... ;)

Wrong sir...there is a historic helicopter museum about 20 minutes away -- Classic Rotors.. They have a number of vintage helicopters, including the only Piasecki H-21 left flying. (I have had the honor of being one of the few to sit in the cockpit of this amazing machine.)
