An F-4 pilot requested clearance to take off from a joint military/civilian airport, but due to the amount of civilian traffic the ATC told him he

Funny joke, but the Phantom is not known for its climb performance.  An F-22 could probably do it.

Actual performance data: Clean F-4J, NAS North Island, Runway 18, Approx 15,000 ft altitude over Point Loma, about 2-2.5 miles down range travel.
Don't ask an aviator if he flys fighters.
