I believe the correct term would be 'de-railed', lol.

That would be the Correct term

I'm sort of with B-Valvs. Valuable posting is where it contributes to what was originally intended. As you can see, I'd never become a moderator because I take sides, become too serious and I'm probably not very friendly haha. But I'm happy where I am.

Valuable posting is always one of the traits that people use when looking for moderators on various forums, that and using common sense and knowing when to admit when there wrong.

Where's the door?  ;D

Image

I know from moderating previous sites and helping on a couple which i now use that when users are applying for the various positions, there posting history and anything valuable they have been posting is taken into considerations.

Just adding my small contribution to this thread

When I wander back, and have a peek at Page 1...

...the recommendation was to "PM" the request to the Management....

...not advertise to the Whole World your intimate desires, in your struggle for ultimate power and control over the Sim V Fraternity, on a Forum Thread...

...like this...;)..!

This one is just for light-hearted fun and laughter , for all those of us obviously not suitable totally unsuitable for the highly elevated Post... ;D...!

Exactly Paul, which is why i've kept out of this thread since my last post a few weeks ago lol, I can say in all honesty i have Pm'd the management with an application. But going back and reading through the posts that have been made since has definately made me giggle a few times.

To me it's really not much different than the chatter in a theatre before the movie starts.  :)   It's been fun to read.

My application was submitted in the correct manner. I am not trying to advertise to the world my desires, nor do I want ultimate power over the forum (I f anyone does, they really, really, REALLY need to get out more

This is my point. This thread was not made to be for fun and laughter. In my opinion*, the reason a mod was never announced is because this thread went so far off the rails.

*Feel free to disagree or completely ignore me. That's your opinion.

This may seem odd, but if you ever become a Moderator you'll want to avoid doing that. Some people would receive that as hostile or a challenge. :P

It's good to remeber too, Moderators can't take sides in a fight...
They, like everyone else, can voice their opinion.

All I'm trying to say is that this has gotten a little out of hand. This was the reaction from the last mod thread after 2 off topic posts were made:

I don't think Pete meant for this to be a game, but I get that itching feeling that y'all think it is :S. (No offense, of course ).

I got my application in, and I hope for the best, but am always prepared for the worst. (Mark Harmon, NCIS)

Best of luck to all that are considered, seems like it is a tough choice!

Edit: I'm not trying to be mean, but when I saw "I got it in on time" I thought it was being thought of lightly...

I'm not trying to spoiler all of your "fun," I just think it's kind of crazy.

The last time our 3 latest mods were requested there was a little levity
involved
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1227872992

The timespan was shorter, so things could not roll so far down the pike.
As Paul has mentioned fun is the spice of life! I think we currently have some very good moderators here and if they posted in this thread I do not think any less of them. I likely wouldn't visit here as much if there wasn't some fun involved.
And this is how I think so please be aware that it is not aimed at anyone in particular.

Huh, the people that were chosen as the new Moderators in that thread didn't even post until after the decision was made.  ;D ;D ;D

To be completely honest, this does need to be locked and a new one started. That is, unless a new Moderator isn't even needed anymore... ;)

Levity is the keyword, Charles, not who said what and when.  :)
:)  Anyhoo, I am out of here, this thread went clean again.
