Do you know what...

There's nothing that annoys me more than when someone refers to me as a; "Guy", or a; "Dude" (Dood)... >:(...!

Very derogatory terms.

Me, and some of my "Chums", "Mates", "Chaps", "us Blokes", etc, can get very annoyed...;)...!

-In some neighborhoods here, if you call another man your 'mate' you can be shot. :o

- Chum is what you bait sharks with.

-bloke, got nothing clever for this one.

-Thanks to California, 'dude' is the current word of choice for someone who is your friend.

-There is a guitar player who's name is : Guy Mann Dude. (seriously, google it. ;) )

Ohio...

Definitely a place to avoid for our English Mates...

....probably because they omit the letter "u" in Neighbourhood"...;)...!

The use of English Words/Phrases....

Quote:
Colonial and Revolutionary Eras

During the 18th century, the French set up a system of trading posts to control the fur trade in the region. In 1754, France and Great Britain fought a war known in the United States as the French and Indian War. As a result of the Treaty of Paris, the French ceded control of Ohio and the rest of the Old Northwest to Great Britain. Pontiac's Rebellion in the 1760s challenged British military control, which ended with the American victory in the American Revolution. In the Treaty of Paris in 1783 Britain ceded all claims to Ohio to the United States.
End Quote.

...and the reason why we lost them... :'(...!

Buggar.!... >:(...!

;D In some places in Dayton, (west side) Even Ohioans should avoid it! ;D  English is like the 3rd or 4th language there, after a few native dialects of slang. :-/

In my actual corner of Ohio,(a small town called Eaton), I live a few blocks from Ft. St. Clair, a site of one of the battles from the incident of which you speak. ;)

Lot's of American, British, & French graves, but no indians. :-?

Ohio- A very culurful place. ;D ;)
