Just kick it with slightly less force...
I wish you'd told me that before I went to sleep: it wound up careening all the way downhill into the intersecting road, got run over by a pickup and spun off of the snowbank until it came to a stop another half mile away. Then the snowplow blasted through. I may have it dug out and try your advice by the time I wake up. Wait a minute... dang crazy dream, where'd the power cord go? Oh, I think I'm hanging by it...

It's time to bring in the sanitation engineer to sweep up the mess!  ;D
