You know you live in California if...

1. Your co-worker has 8 body piercings and none are visible,

2. You make over $300,000 and still can't afford a house,

3. You take a bus and are shocked at two people carrying on a conversation in English,

4. Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Breeze,

5. You can't remember . . is pot illegal?

6. You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor,

7. You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian,

9. You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?

10. A really great parking space can totally move you to tears,

11. A low speed police pursuit will interrupt ANY TV broadcast,

12. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the U.S,
13. A man gets on the bus in full leather regalia and crotchless chaps, and you don't even notice,

14. Un like back home, the guy at 8:30 am at Starbucks' wearing the baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney really IS George Clooney,

15. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment,

16. Your hairdresser is straight, your plumber is gay, the woman who delivers your mail is into S &M, and your Mary Kay rep is a guy in drag.

17. You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?

18. It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH,"

19. You have to leave the big company meeting early because Billy Blanks himself is teaching the 4:00 pm Tae Bo class,

20. You pass an elementary school playground and the children are all busy with their cells or pagers,

21. It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents . . .

22. Hey!!!! Is Pot Illegal????

23. Both you AND your dog have therapists . . . and lastly,

24. The Terminator is your governor.

I've been to California (San Diego) a couple times, most recent was last summer. I must say most of those are quite true and gave me a good laugh ;D ;D

Well, after 3 years in San Diego, 1 year in 29 Palms, and now 7 months in on another 3 year tour in the SF Bay Area...I find thses very true about California.  Especially the weather ones, if it rains, just unpack your sleeping bag and get comfy at the office.  The drive home just isn't worth it.  It is unbelievable how bad these drivers are out here when a drop of moisture forms in the atmosphere and makes it's way to the earth LOL.  Last time it rained out here it took me 4 hours to drive 53 miles.  :-/

Ok, Cali-Rant over  ;D  (sure wish they would send me back to Hawaii)

I'm from San Francisco, I left for the east coast in 98, but decided to go back in 07 -- big mistake I hated it, went to SoCal for a year and decided to come back east -- It didn't take me very long to realize the mistake, just took a while to earn enough money to get out again -- All of those things were true years before the Governator took office.

...so what are your final conclusions/preferences....

East Coast, or West Coast?

I have spent the past 10+ Years, (since Flight Unlimited II), daily Sim Flying around the whole of California from North to South, East to West, using my highly detailed, relief Maps of the State, and in the meantime, dropping of in various areas and gaining all sorts of knowledge via the Internet, of the local areas!

I get daily, up-to-date E-Mailed news from the various News Stations and Newspapers, with Video reports.

I find the State of California a fascinating place, with variations of all sorts, and a surprise around every corner!

For me, it is an excellent exercise in History and Geography, all using the benefits of the Flight Sim!

F....G-BPLF... FU II/FS '98/FS 2000/FS 2002/FS 2004, (FSX)....;)...!

I reckon I have learned more about California in the past 10 years, than the whole of my 75 years of life in England... :o... ;)... ;D...!

My daily news from the Bay Area...>>>>

If you want to know anything about the present "State" of California...just ask "Arnie"...
...he may be away at the time..but..."He'll be Back!"... ;D...!

"You know you live in California if... "
I wouldn't need all of those clues. Seeing an ocean to the west and none to the east would be a dead set clue I wasn't at the front end of the country's map...
