"Has anyone seen Major Kong?"
I have had a similar incident with a forklift and loading dock, but we were unloading pallets. For some reason the truck driver decided to leave with the forklift half in and half out of the loading dock. He failed to mention he was leaving to us.
Every place I've ever worked that used forklifts always said to NEVER EVER try to jump off a fork truck if it tries to turn over. It's best to just ride it over and always wear the seat belt. Try to grab the steering wheel, duck and cover your head between your arms. Worst you might get is a broken limb. The roll cage normally will offer good protection if you stay on the machine. But it will kill you if you try to jump.
They said that 90% of those that try to jump die. I know of one poor SOB that tried to jump, he was 32 and died instantly and was very gory.
I rather doubt anyone wants the gory details..... :-/
