The bomber/missle trials,

What are you laughing at?

The bomber/missle trials,

the results of which were put to computer:

The bombers were to fly just over treetop level, from beyond radar range. Three low-level bombers against a missle site with three missiles -- which will survive?
The missle radar crew didn't pull the flicker of the bombers out of the ground clutter until they were less than two minutes out. Unable to get an immediate lock and frantic to win the contest, the missle crew fired the first missle with the hopes of getting a good lock on the first bomber while the missle was in fight. The lock attempts failed and the computer recorded a complete miss.
After many more precious seconds of trying to acquire a good lock through ground clutter and the bombers' jamming strobes, the second missle was sent off but the lock momentarily broke in mid-flight. The crew managed to regain lock just as the missle reached impact point, whereupon it immediately exploded. The computer recorded a kill of the last two bombers: the second was in the core of the blast and the last caught the majority of the shrapnel.
One bomber was left, the first, and was now so close that there was no way it could break the missle radar's lock. However, the finger was already in motion to drop bombs at the same time that the last missle was sent on its way.

Now, rather than give you the computer results, I'll let you supply it. Yes, the answer is a definite a pun.

Am I the only one in these forums who can, better or particularly worse, pun? I'd rather swordplay -- but I can't make an 's' with a long knife. ::)

You're not alone from the course of centuries... that's why we entered the 'space age'.
Come on, make a pun for the bomber/missle trials. My kingdom For a pun... oh, that's a problem: I have no kingdom.

Out of the possibilities for the bomber/missile trials, I have a preference to a computer printout based on a form of the words bomb and pieces. However, that doesn't mean one of you can't come up with something better or come up with the same one.

Now, if you just combine them, maybe you'll do better than:
The computer printed out,
"Missle crew bombed out
Bomber crew went to pieces"

              or

Team bomber: bombed
Team Missle:    up in pieces
