Str!ker has no clue (Str!ker also doesn't know why he is refering to himself in the 3rd person).

Things like that don't happen too often. It occurs when you load the plane in a very bad fashion, causing one end to tip.

I've seen it happen with a B-1B before  :o

Thanks for correcting my thinking, everyone -- it's so embarrassing. I mean, it's a big bird and I just thought it was laying an egg. :-[

727's are picky about loading. the front half must be loaded, and most of the time through the side door, before the back can even be touched. many a story about 27's tipping.

As the guys have said, uneaven loading. I've seen a VC-10 sat on it's tail like these at Brize Norton - costly error as the VC-10 was a write off. Not sure if it's the same outcome for these though.

...Believe it or not....I have seen the second one for real. I was quite young at the time, but my dad still drove past the airport, and there was the MD-11.

And if you look in the background of the first, you will see something that I'm quite sure is an Il-76.

Depends... reloading towards the front can safely bring it back down on its gear (they often take more impact on landing). My personal thought is that a 'loading jack' should be employed for safety -- and don't exceed the load allocations.
