Well-Known - Screwed up - Proverbs

Postby Ashton Lawson » Wed Feb 07, 2007 10:08 am

A junior school teacher gave her class the first halves of well-known proverbs and asked the children to finish them.  These are their genuine answers...

If you can't stand the heat... get a pool.
Don't count your chickens... eat them.
A watched pot never... disappears.
Better to be safe than... punch a fifth former.
Don't bite the hand that... looks dirty.
You can't teach a dog new... maths.
The pen is mightier than the... pigs.
Too many cooks... so few meals.
Two's company.  Three's... the Musketeers.
Laugh and the world laughs with you.  Cry and... you have to blow your nose.
Children should be seen and not... spanked.
Strike while the... bug is close.
A miss is as good as a... mister.
Look before you... run into a pole.
Never under estimate the power of... termites.
When the blind leadeth the blind... get out of the way.
If you lie down with dogs you'll... stink in the morning.
An idle mind is... the best way to relax.
Where there's smoke there's... pollution.
There's no fool like... Aunt Edie.
A penny saved is... not much.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
