It is called speed tape, or pressure sensitive metal tape. Perfectly normal temporary repair of the Teflon sliding seal on the flaps.

Matt

PS The only funny part is the ignorance of the person who posted the video trying to make something out of nothing............not you Alphabravo.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Except they're different. I believe gaffer tape doesn't leave marks when it's removed. Duct tape on the other hand does on some surfaces.

Gaffer tape is yet again something else... much stickier and stronger than duct tape.

As for the clip, I think those guys are maintenance personnel... and yes, there's nothing wrong with using that aluminum tape on something like that.

It's amazing how many people have time to visit every video and discussion forum to post hateful, ignorant, or just plain stupid comments... do they think they're shocking anybody?

Good gaffer tape shouldn't leave marks ..... unfortunately it's very hard to get hold of.

The cheap version on, the other hand, is incredibly sticky and will stick to anything  that you don't want it to stick to, including itself, with disasterous consequences on some occasions. It also has a tendancy not to stick to what you need it to stick to.
