Yeah, it may be funny - but under English law you'd be done for that.

as stated you are more than likely to get charged for wasting police time, however it just makes the point that police always seem to want to screw the victim. This paper cutting is funny, but it does show that police really don't care. I knew someone that constantly got abuse from the chav's in the street, always bricking his window and smashing his car up. He was always on the phone to the police, but they wouldn't do anything unless he had video evidence (god knows how the police coped before video cameras came out) And he said that, its not his job to do the investigating, that was the police's job. Obviously the police wouldn't do fook all, and when the kids came back again, he phoned the police and they said they where too busy. So he finally had enough and went out and cricket batted one of them and the others ran off. He was the one charged for assault and had to pay a high fine and did community service. Bet the chav's didn't have any video evidence, just goes to show how the law works

i know, you americans are lucky in that respect, over here in the uk, the law favors the criminal. Tony blair has ruined this country by taking all our rights away and you can't do anything to protect you own home. Any brit on here will remember the case a few years ago about the farmer tony martin who had constant break ins at his house by gypsies to which the police wouldn't do anything, and he finally shot 2 of them with a shotgun and spent 4 years in prison. How is that justice?

Its the classic case of the idiot sat behind you flicking spitballs into your ears, and when you turn around and punch him the teacher's looking.

Its so totally unfair... which is why I wait until after class to do the punching  ;)

Not true. If you feel threatened then you are allowed to use force on an intruder intill the threat ceases to be a threat. Which basically means that you've got to be British and not kick 'em when their down. In Tony Martins case he shot two youths in the back killing one of them when they wern't even in his house. That is why he was imprisoned.

And yet no one arrested the remaining others that were breaking in?
