Trick Questions: Part 2

What are you laughing at?

Trick Questions: Part 2

Postby Tchkinjiu » Mon Nov 10, 2003 5:42 pm

This one is a bit harder than the last, but don't lose hope!

1. If a doctor gives you three pills, and tells you to take a pill every half hour, how long until they would all be taken?

2. I went to bed at eight O' clock in the evening and wound up my clock and set the alarm to sound at nine O'clock in the morning. How many hours of sleep would I get before being awakened by the alarm?

3. A farmer had 17 sheep. All but 9 died. How many live sheep were left?

4. If you had only one match and entered a cold and dark room, where there was an oil lamp, an oil heater and a candle, which would you light first?

5. How many animals of each species did Moses take with him in the Ark?

6. (How quickly can you find out what is unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing was wrong with it at all, and in fact, nothing is. But it is unusual. Why? If you study it and think about it you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without coaching. No doubt if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. I don't know. Now, go to work and try your luck.)

7. If Mr Smith's peacock lays an egg in Mr Jones' yard, who owns the egg?

8. You've seen a map of Italy. In which direction does the toe of the boot face?

9. Exactly how many slices of 1.5 cm each can you cut from a whole bread which is 22.5 cm long?

10. I have 6 apples, I take away 4, how many do I have?

11. Start with three coins: a penny, a nickel and a quarter. Say, "Tommy's mother has three children. The first child's name is Penny." (Hold up the penny while saying this.) "The second child's name is Nick." (Hold up the nickel.) What is the third child's name? (Hold up the quarter.)

12. Do you say "Loo-iss-vill" is the capital of Kentucky, or do you say "Loo-ee-vill" is the capital of Kentucky?

13. How many birth days does the average person have?

14. How many bricks does it take to complete a building made entirely of bricks?

15. What do you sit on, sleep on, and brush your teeth with?

16. There was an airplane crash, every single person died, but two people survived. How is this possible?

17. Eskimos are very good hunters, but they never hunt penguins. Why not?

18. What came first, the chicken or the egg?

19. As I was going to St Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks;
Each sack had seven cats;
Each cat had seven kittens.
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were going to St Ives?

20. If a plane crashes on the border between the US and Mexico, where do they bury the survivors?

This is a long one, so don't expect me to remember ALL of them.

Good luck!!

(1) Presuming you took one when the Doc gave them to you: one hour.

(2) One hour. Since when to wind-up clocks know AM from PM.

(3) Well let me think... could it be nine?

(4) The match of course.

(5) What was Moses doing with an ark, wasn't that Noah's job?

(6) Could be wrong on this, no "E," but why is the paragraph inclosed between parentheses.

(7) Peacocks don't lay eggs, they let the peahens do that.

[8] Well the toe on my boot points in whatever direction I want it to; but the toe on Italy's bootish shore points westerly.

(9) I sure wish I could get more than one slice, but I only use whole bread.

(10) Four...but what about the other two, they sure look tasty!

(11) I think you better let Tommy and his newly aquired quarter answer that one.

(12) no, I say "Frank-fort" is the capital of Kentucky.

(13) One, but he has 364 unbirthdays!

(14) After thousands of bricks layed, it only takes one to complete the building.

(15) A chair, a bed, and a toothbrush.

(16) Perhaps they were married. Even better, Conjoined Twins! But I suppose I'll stick with the marriage thing.

(17) I bet they would hunt those spiffy little dudes if they could just get to Antarctica.

[18] In the sentence, chicken. In reality, egg.

(19) One! It was you silly.

(20) Burying survivors? What religion do you practice?

See, not that hard.

Let's see...

1: I'll say 90 minutes

2: 13 hours, if you fall asleep at 8.

3: 9

4: There has to be a trick here...  I would light the candle.

5: None

6: Dunno

7: I don't think they lay eggs.

8: South West

9: 15

10: 4

11: Ask the parents, they should know!

12: It's pronounced "frank-fort"

13: 1

14: A lot.

15: Your hands.  Some people sit on them, some sleep on them, and most use them to brush their teeth.

16: The two were married.  Almost got me on that one too.  8)

17: Because penguins live too far away.  It would be a long trip to the southern hemosphere just for lunch.  ::)

18: The egg.  It was put there by the farmer.  ;)

19: I would say one I guess.  ???  "I" am going.

20: You don't bury them.  You give them a plane ticket home.  Maybe they would prefer a bus...
