My physics professor in our quantum mechanics course was saying this particle has more to do with how things have mass. Everything is actually just a collection of waves but some how they still have mass, so this particle is supposed to be the key to how that happens....or so I think.
Either way, Im glad ol Hawkins is ticked. I am so sick of that egotistical and bitter crippled!

Ok the Finding of this particle (if its really true) will bring a lot implication ,I always though that the LHC was the biggest waste of money of all history because I didn't believe the existence of this Higgs Field nature

I learn this couple days ago and the implication of this could turn everything upside down the way we used to see the universe ..I'm in shock  :P

The field is what gives things mass... The particle is created when you excite the field.

Wave-particle duality is a fun thing, and Heisenberg's uncertainty principle helps things out - Lots of things are waves until you look for them, in which case you observe the particle.

"Mr Heisenberg, do you know how fast you were going back there?" "No, but at least now I know exactly where I am"
