Who here remembers this?

I certainly don't. At the time I was just a happy little boy in his last year of freedom before going to school.  ;D

This website is amazing. You can put there any website you want and it will show you how it looked through the ages, and you can actually navigate in it, for some pages...

I've used Wayback a few times for other sites. I haven't been here very long but I did get time to read back through the forum topics from years ago. I'm not sure that's possible anymore, from this site (Simv) at least.  :-/

Right....I had forgotten all about that. But to be fair, I was just a kid with no job and practically no life. And because I was limited to dialup internet, I sure wasn't going to let several valuable minutes of image load time go to waste...! ;D

Thanks for bringing this up Xpand. It begins to look familiar to me in 2008 when I first started downloading planes for my copys of FS2002 & CFS 1.

I suspect that there are many old Fogies, and a few younger Fogies amongst us, who were involved in the early days of Home Computing.... ;)...!

As Alex has recalled, my interest in computers started in the early 1970's with the various Games Consoles, and the first of the Home Computers; Apple IIe, quickly followed by the classic Sinclair (Timex) Z80, Z81 and the wonderful Sinclair Spectrum 48K, and the Commodore C64...Amstrad CPC 464, BBC B.....etc...etc...!
We all spent many hours in each others bedrooms busy typing out various programs on our 8-Bit computers, in BASIC and Machine Code, with amazing results, and learning all the time!
My house is overflowing with all those old Computers and Consoles, and all their mountains of Software and Hardware!

The 8-Bit Computers were followed by the various 16-Bit Computers Atari 1024 and the lovely Amiga 500 and 1200 (which I still run)...

...and then came the 32-Bit PC's...and all our Bedroom programming suddenly came to a standstill with the introduction of "Desktops" with their versions of MS "Windows"...and none of us could program in 32 Bits!...(The addresses are far too long!)... :o... ;D...!

But my love of 8-Bits still carries on today, and I still spend many happy hours programming my Sinclair Spectrum 48K's, C64's, Amstrad 464, etc... etc...JOY!... :-*....!

The birth of the first 8-Bit Home Computers was a milestone in modern Computing, and fondly remembered by we early programmers!

The name "Fozzersoft" still remains, together with "Microsoft"... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

Paul...10 FOR i = 1 to 10: BEEP .05,i.... ;D...!

P.S...Uncle Bill was slightly more successful than me!.. :'(...!

.... ;D....!

Well, the first time I touched a computer was when I was 3, in 1996. All I did was play pacman. I discovered FS around late 2001 through my uncle that had FS2002 installed in his PC. It was love at first sight. I still remember I didn't dare to roll the plane because I had no joystick and the plane just went out of control if I did that. So my flights were always straight ahead!  ;D
I started developing around 2004-2005 when I accidentally found gmax on my FS2004 CDs. I still have some of my first oversized planes almost the size of the seattle airport, because I had no idea of what scaling ment!  ;D Simviation dates back to the 2003s when I started downloading planes.
