London Riots

Postby ozzy72 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 9:29 am

Just found out that a mob is less than a mile from the office. We're now working out who is taking what home tonight just in case. None of us are able to move the fish tank!!!! I'm dreading getting the server down three floors without a lift!
Poor fish :(

Best of luck to you and your co-workers.  Someone needs to call in an airstrike on those kids.

This is what happens when people with 1 IQ point get together and create a super cell.

Some of the excuses from the riots were idiotic; the initial one about the shooting is unfortunate. Yeah, the police do make mistakes. But a gun man gunned down? Hmmm. It was asking to happen.

As for cutting EMA (for those who don't know, currently, depending on your household income, college students can receive between

Apparently a mob is beseiging the local cop shop! We've not gone 5 mins today with a police car screaming along the Edgware Road with its sirens blaring.
This is the most excitement we've had in the office since Dan put his head in the tropical fish tank for a bet ;D ;D ;D
We've decided what is going and what is staying and the boss has said any dents caused to company vehicles by driving over hoodies will be considered legitimate damage ;D ;D ;D
The Ford dealership over the road from us have just pulled all their cars off the forecourt. It's going down 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I have never understood mob mentality. A large percentage would not be involved in any violence if they were alone.

And it rarely, if ever accomplishes anything good. The only example I can think of, would be to put a dictator out of power.

The mob mentality is usually about weak folk feeling empowered when they are in a group.

These 'riots' are only about groups of thugs realising they can get free stuff out of this and doing it because they can, with no care of what they are doing to small businesses and people who live in now burnt homes. They have zero social conscience or feeling of social inclusion. There is no political motive. the only motive is to get as many free ipads, jewellery, adidas, flat screen TV's, etc while they can.

In many cases those involved are coming in from outside. Some are so called anarchists who preach against greed and living in a sea of hypocrisy - as it is criminal greed that is driving this whole thing. But most are just simple minded criminals  - stealing because they can.

My opinion is that they now have to stop this with as much force as necessary as soon as possible. Rubber bullets, water cannons, etc (not deadly fire though as that would be totally counter productive)

Yes. But It would be bombed a million miles from the target and bomb the victim then call it a success ::) ::) ::) ::). :-/.
Have you ever heard about The cheerleader effect? ;D ;D.

But that is just plain stupidity >:(

Well getting home was a non-event. There was me hoping to get some hoodie heads as bonnet ornaments to make the Astra a little more personal.....
I think the best thing would be to conscript these idiots and use them as human IED/mine detectors in troublespots around the world. It might teach them a thing or two about the value of life... or it might just stop them being a problem ;D

This is a prime example of why its time to force the PC bunny-hugger brigade out. They are too afraid to do anything except blame the parents and politely ask these shameful youths to stop.
There is no need to go to the drastic lengths of certain countries with riots, but certainly a need to put some respect back into these idiots.
Human rights went out the window the moment they put others lives in danger, that was further backed when two people at least now, were killed.

It actually reminds me of this particular dinosaur that had to move in packs. It was so large and so stupid it had to have a separate brain to control its rear legs and the herd was required so that they could all work together on an otherwise simple task, such as where to go  ;D

I thought English hooliganism was a tradition.

May 18, 1964: Mods and Rockers jailed after seaside riots

Scores of youths have been given prison sentences following a Whitsun weekend of violent clashes between gangs of Mods and Rockers at a number of resorts on the south coast of England ...
