Watching your taxes at work

Postby ozzy72 » Thu Jan 13, 2011 11:36 am

Pottering along the M1 to work this morning I nearly got flattened by and idiot in a 3-series BMW who passed me at well over a tonne and then dived across four lanes to undertake some cars and then dive back across into the fast lane.
He missed my front wheel by about a yard! He missed the Vecta in lane 2 by even less!
So Mr. Need For Speed has it pegged when suddenly an interesting thing happened to the Vectra. All these lights came on and off it went like a stabbed rat.
Next time I saw Mr. BMW Driver (he who clearly has visual imparement due to the massive floppy pink appendage growing out of his forehead blocking his eyes) he was on the hard shoulder in the pouring rain having a nice chat with two very burly and unhappy looking plod.
Sometimes there truly are rewards for paying lots of tax 8-) 8-) 8-)

Quick translation;
D*ckheadd in BMW nearly kills me whilst driving above the instant ban speed. Nearly hits unmarked cop car whilst undertaking on a motorway (mega-illegal).
Gets busted and makes my morning a VERY happy one 8-)
Oh and I considered the driver a total d*ckhead, hence the comment about the massive floppy pink appendage growing out of his forehead and getting in his eyes to obstruct his vision!

[color=#000000]Don't mean to imply I'm any smarter than Rom, I'm not. But I got it all except for undertaking. I know what overtaking on the highway is, passing. And I know what undertaking means around here, mortician. But what does it mean in this context?

People like that should be forced to strap thier family to the front of thier car every time they drive somewhere. I'd bet you'd see a quick change, right away.  >:(

It's all about which side you over take on. It's where you overtake in a slower lane, or on the lane which has the curb on it.

Not illegal everywhere, but usually frowned upon.

I had to Google Vectra to see what you were talking about.  Looks like a Saturn sedan.  :yawn:

Ok. We call it passing in the suicide lane. I don't like to do it, but when these slow idiots won't move out of the fast lane you only have two choices, pass or slow down to their speed. I have no idea why driving slower than

most traffic in the fast lane is not being enforced, it is illegal. But unless it is a recent change, 'undertaking' is not over here. It's just not safe.

Well you americans have 'keep your lane' which makes it less annoying than europe.

And yes, the vauxhall cavalier / opel vectra is a boring car, but you need a lot of balls to keep a tuned VXR (v6 sports version, most likely candidate for police pursuit vehicle) on the road at high speeds as the suspension wasnt made for the kind of speed these things can do
