I suppose the amount of effort to get this stupid site drop Alrot's files would not be worth the result. I'm a bit pessimistic here but as many already said, Alrot is not the first one to get problems with that famous site.
After all, there is a reason why FSPlanet is nicknamed "FSPirates" on all the FS forums.

I think that's part of the solution. It's not just Alrot who has been affected, so it's more possible to drop the site instead of just the files.

As I said earlier, contacting the actual web host and informing them, and having the group support of those affected, would be an easier solution. It shouldn't have to come to a court case. If they downloaded a few of them for themselves they could probably see 'these websites only' or 'no fsplanet' in some of the READMEs. That should be proof enough.

i looked @ their website, and your file was the first one listed. I clicked on it and got a "file not found" message.


now a question for you all;

i clicked on a few files there and they started downloading just fine at a speed of 30Kbps; I didn't have to pay anything.

This is no different than simV. If you don't have a membership, you can download around 30Kbps, and there are limits on how many files you can download simultaneously.

I checked out your vid alex; that's a really nice job you did with the MD83. Makes me wish I had a system capable of running FSX.


One last thought; If you don't want to get into payware, but want to control who hosts your work, what if you did make it payware and sell it for a dollar, or even less.

Then you could have absolute control over distribution.

Besides you might not even need legal action, all you have to do is launch a complaint against the hosting company for hosting pirated software.

I couldn't hurt to try.

I won't be surprised if George and I's FSX Embraer EMB120 gets added to FSPlanet.  If it does, somebody's gonna get smacked! 

I don't know what the guy who runs the site is getting out of hosting downloads without permission. It's just upsetting hundreds of freeware developers.

I already try many things , I even post in my website a big yellow warning about this site

Alrot, freeware devs do have rights.

This pirate is just clearly ignoring them.

Do you see any of your other SimV exclusive work on other sites? (Pretty sure only 2 sites host your work, its SimV and FSPirate to my knowledge)


It's one person clearly breaking it.

The problem is that freeware devs keep asking the pirate to remove their work nicely.

Someone has to go over his head (the hosting company) and complain.

All it takes is a tip that someone is hosting pirated software.

Sure the hosting company will take the fall, but since they obviously have other interests they can give a client a bad rap in the world of hosting.

Who would want to host a website that could bankrupt them?

listen ,I don't really bother anymore ,at least they keep my name on it  , as I said ,there are worse things in the freeware world , who knows ? I found this in google by typing md 83 alejandro bla bla bla and this shows up maybe the model is also without designer in other sites who knows ?
Is the freeware word where freeware designers are just a bunch of idiots that works to make something and any one can take credit for this assuming they did
