Low atmospheric pressure

Postby Fozzer » Mon Nov 08, 2010 6:04 am

..just had a peek at my Weather Station in my back garden...

The atmospheric pressure is presently reading 970 millibars...
..the very lowest reading on the Gauge... :o...!

The lowest I have ever seen it!

Pressure = 970
Temp = 9*C.
Humidity = 65%

Does this mean the End of the World is nigh...
..or a Tornado is on its way to Hereford?... :o...!

Paul.... ;)... ;)...!

Maybe.... it means your gauge is broken. ::)

I don't know how to convert inches to millibars but the Weather Channel shows 28.56 inches and falling, 41*F, 87% humidity, and wind from ESE @ 12 mph for Shobdon.
Oh yeah, and it's raining.

For my neck of the woods:
32*F and clear
81% humidity
30.24 inches pressure
wind calm

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

...you may be right there, Larry... :'(...!

I've just taken it indoors and partly dismantled it, and the needle doesn't seem to be firmly attached to the bellows/gearing... :(...!

The trouble is...weather stations are installed outside in all weathers....
..whether we like it, or not!... ;).... ;D....!

Buggar...

Looks like I need another new Weather Station!.... :'(...!

Paul...weathering the storm.. 8-)...!

Latest: Just checked my local weather conditions and re-calibrated the Barometer section of my Weather Station...
Hopefully its "fixed" now...see how it goes... ::)...!

A useful piece of kit for all the Sim Pilots interested in the Real/Sim weather...
...and Motorcyclists; me, who have to suffer it!... ;D...!

That 28.56 doesn't match the current chart.  No bullseye lows in sight - just the usual north-south swath of liquid sunshine from John O'Groats to the English Channel.

Just get a Pilot's Forecasting Station Paul, it will always work and always be accurate.

Never fails to make me laugh...

Sensibility at its best... ;D...!

I think I've got my outside Pressure Gauge working again....
..re-calibrated it against my accurate Indoor Barometer.
Reading 29.4". 950 mB....very slowly rising.

9AM. Wednesday 10th November.
Clear blue Sky.
Slight Northerly breeze.
OAT= 21* C
Humidity= 75%

Feeling a bit nippy!
(Wearing my ankle Sock)... ;)... ;)...!
