...funny thing is...

I've been watching all your posts in the FSX Forum and the Hardware Forum, since FSX was released, and the never-ending arguments with various (similarly inclined) Members involving a multitude of problems with both FSX and Hardware,
.....and I always thought to myself; "You are not enjoying this"... :o...
..you should be having fun flying around with FS 2002/FS 2004 like the rest of us!

I purchased FSX when it was first released and soon found out that my ancient Computer was no good to run it nicely, so I saved myself loads of money and infinite stress, and stuck to FS 2004....which runs lovely... :-*...!
I find more enjoyment in actually flying my FS 2004 every day, rather than daily worrying about the size of my Processor, Graphics Card, and Power Supply Unit!

I am limited to what I can do, with what I have...

..and I am satisfied with that!... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

Yeah, I considered going back to FS9 several times, and I used to have both of them side by side.  As it is, I get pretty decent performance now, at a premium cost of course.  Was it worth it?  No, probably not.

I don't fly the sim as much as I used to, but still once or twice a week I take off for a flight. I'm saving my pennies for another lcd screen believing more imersion will spark my interest. Untill I went to dinner at my future son in laws house last night and saw his 10 foot projection screen in action. Now I've been busy looking up screens and projecters all morning on the net. A waste of time of course because my computer room is only 8 feet across! And stuffed to the top with parts, old battery chargers etc.
To date I have never bought a payware craft yet.    :)

...the funny thing is...

...in my retirement I have enjoyed flying my FS'98/2000/2002/2004/(FSX?) Sims every single day for the past 12+ years... :-*..!
I have crates of various Computer Games, (and Computers), dating from the late 1970's but the Flight Sim series is the only one that allows me to explore the whole World, in conjunction with my Maps and local information via Wikipedia!
Very entertaining and educational!
I am drawn to my trusty Flight Sim upon waking up every morning, and there I remain for the next 12 hours....

...how's that for addiction!.... :o.... ;D....!

I've always been more interested in the development side of FS than actually "flying". Creating addons rather than buying them might help relieve your boredom. Perhaps that's not what you had in mind.  It doesn't suit everyone but can be very addictive.

Alrot,
I liked how you took the liberty of BOLD facing that.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I've recently gone over to the Dark Side, I've brought X-Plane 9. The graphics aren't as good as FSX but the game play is incredibly realistic and suddenly I'm focusing on sharpening my skills on a variety of planes and being an aerobatic God in as close to realistic settings as possible.
Remember I'm a nutter.... scary or what? ;D ;D ;D

Don't you think you went to "the dark side" If M$ do what they do as the main avatar "We Will Ignore People & we just want to empty their pockets" Many will move to plane x

In Europe people get to retire.  In America, you are obligated to work until you keel over of a cardiac arrest.
