True or False

Goodly morning all... :)

You have all heard the expression:

"Bullshit baffles Brains"

Well a little bit of aviation knowledge will do the same thing.

We were sitting around my wee little barn in the underground garage having a toddy and one topic led to another when someone asked me this question.

Where is the safest place to sit in an aircraft just in case of an accident?

Well I looked at each member of the group of four all waiting for my educated knowledgable answer, hmmm...where have I heard that question before?
(1) school teacher...male...about 60 years old...retired
(2) lawyer...male...about 65 years old...retired
(3) banker...male...about 70 years old...retired
(4) pharmacist...male...about 70 years old...retired

Well I sat back a little more in the rocking chair, looked over at a couple of cars, took a sip of my toddy and said:

"In the rear of the aircraft...always...in the rear of the aircraft"

AWW HUH...they looked at each other nodding, smiling, yup that is what they all thought...YUP...pleased with my answer.

Then came the lawyers question:

"Is that because the back of the aircraft is stronger than the front?"

Nope...I said...smiling... :)

It is because you never hear of an aircraft backing into a mountain...I replied...with a straight face and taking another sip of my toddy.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

...I think it is right here in my rocking chair, in my wee little barn in the underground garage and having a sip of my toddy....Doug
Unfortunately, the question requires being "in" the acft. Unfortunately, circumstances don't favor a chair that already rocks before the others start to -- even in a plane large enough to transport an underground garage that houses a barn. The build-up of flames and gases... :o :D

Goodly morning all and thanks for the comments... :)

The barn is really a large storage shed with two doors located in our secured designated underground garage.

It is now starting to get full with the old girls junk and there is very little space for my collectables.
