For any Aussie's confused by this, Jelly=Jam.

Actually, jelly comes from fruit juice and jam comes from the fruit itself.

Yes, that would be Jello as we Americans know it.

As to "For any Aussie's confused by this, Jelly=Jam", I rememered Aussie Jam was "Jam" as I knew it (the stuff put on biscuits). Since the store didn't have "Jelly" I used Aussie Jam to make a Peanut Butter and Jam (Jelly) sandwich

As to vegamite, my first and last contact with it was at breakfast on my first full day there. Guess one has to get used to it as a main staple in one's diet.  Perhaps some "Jam" might have made it go down the hatch better
