I only wore one when playing or coaching softball.

Once upon a time, a Blue beret accompanied the USAF khaki casuals (discontinued).

Good morning all... :)

Now check out this Link:

The headgear was the RCMP Stetson style.

The colour for the RCMP Stetson is sometimes referred to as "Belgian Belly"; it is a reddish buff, pastel like color of the underfur of the Belgian Hare. ...

Forage Cap/Peaked Cap
-http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/royal-canadian-air-force-rcaf-officers-peaked
-best looking headgear I have ever worn

I've always known that as a peaked cap. The RAF forage cap is what you would call a wedge. See this photo of Douglas Bader wearing one. http://cas.awm.gov.au/item/SUK14726

Hi Doug

I made a change as yes that is a RCAF Peaked Cap which I still think is the same thing as a Forage Cap.

[quote]Seems there is a bit of different terminologies used for the same head gear between the United States, England and Canada once you go through the different sites.

My Uncle wore one of those in the British Army in WW II. (Khaki uniform).

They could be unbuckled, fastened under the chin, and worn as a sort of Balaclava, covering the head and ears, in the cold weather.

Very uncomfortable to wear otherwise,

Hi Doug and Paul and all... ;) (don't want to leave anyone out)... ;D

The RCAF Wedge was not that uncomfortable at all, still worn today by aircrew in the Canadian Forces but for us it was a convenience.
