[quote]Goodly morning all... :)

Thanks fellows...needed a good laugh this morning.... :)

Will take a look at the rest of the Forum later as have to go into the village for a bit, not even time to stop at the bugsmasher field either today.

If anyone has any ideas why the print/typing looks like a well used old typwriter ribbon when I type a reply or message please let me know here.

I asked a son who was here while we were away and he used the computer every day to check his messages.

He told me a "Nividea" upgrade came through on "Windows Update" so he hit the download button. The typing has looked like this ever since.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Good morning all... :)

This is not much better.

I wonder is there a way to make the typing a little darker?

Some letters look alright but others seem to look faded.

I tried the advanced Nvidea settings and did a restart.

I am wondering when that Nvidea update was downloaded if I now need a new driver?

No just checked with Nvidia and I have:
Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX and using the newest driver 197.45

and no Driver Update necessary so I don't know what the problem.

I'm using XP but I don't know which OS you're using; when I access system restore I'm given the option of returning to a previous system configuration date on the calendar (in your case that would be a date prior to your travel). If I choose this option, anything added to my system operations is eradicated while normal programs should remain as is... but be careful -- if one selects full restore, everything gets erased and we start all over.

Thanks "H"

Have a computer person coming tomorrow.

Thought about system restore as I do a "Disk Clean Up", "AVG Virus Check" and "Ad Aware Scan" almost every day and then a "Disc Defrag" after every download or several flights on FSX.

This computer was brand new when VISTA came out, lots and lots of memory and the only thing it is used for is FSX.

Nothing but problems it seems from day one with Vista, am waiting until Larry "Patchz" gives me his opinion on Windows 7 and his Video Card.  It will take awhile as he is still working out some problems as well I think.

If this electronic gizmo was a horse would have shot it a long time ago.... ;)

Okay might be off for awhile as this dam electronic gizmo might find itself at the bottom of the river.

The person I was expecting could not make it and we have not been able to conect yet.

My patience has worn thin with this thing, I had to also do a complete reinstall of FSX and Acceleration.

I am nearly always wrong.. I have learned to be humble and seen but not heard.. Is that driver too new for your 8800 vid card? I use 182.50 with my 8600 gt card. Nvidea.  :)

Thanks Steve...will ask him when he gets here.

The driver was the one recommended by the Nvidea site but you might have the answer.

Just saying Doug. Newest drivers are often aimed at newer video card series. And not always the best for you. I turn off auto updates and do selective updates.

Best of luck to you!  ;)
