My novel

Postby Mazza » Sun Apr 25, 2010 12:37 am

Hello, I am writing this for my English major. It is a story of awesome :) I have all plans and charters and whatnot done. Just want some feed back on current writing.

Prologue.

He walked toward the plane with a spring in his step, smiling as he got in. Thumbs up from his ground crew, he started to push the throttle forward, the plane rumbling and shaking from shear force as the four engines roared to life.

It's a good introduction. I spotted a few mistakes & typos. You should at least make sure you spell the name of your hero correctly. :P

shear force should be sheer force

Men trudging though mud carrying to the weight of a hero.

It's better to do it as you go along, so that you don't miss anything when you go over it later.

I know that the grammar in my school assignments suffers because I backtrack and revise my work. The context of the revised content does not match the context of the original content.

[smiley=thumbsup.gif] I agree with that. You can do a final proof-read when it's finished to make sure you didn't miss anything the first time.

Only the brave would expose their literary effort to a critique from this inquisition of spelling-bee runners up and would be gramarians.

Depends... it may slow one down so much they'll forget what they'd intended to write next, even cause further errors.

The context of the revised content does not match the context of the original content.
My finished work is rarely the same, even nearly, as the original.
