A lot of times big winners wait to claim prizes.  Gives them time to talk to a lawyer and accountant, to get their affairs in order.  You know, get the divorce finalized before claiming the prize.   ;)

Could be lost tickets I suppose.  It's why I never play the same numbers over and over.  If I lost the ticket and my numbers came up I'd be somewhat annoyed.  Lucky dip and I don't look at them, that way I'd never know if the ticket went walkies.
