Earthquake!

Postby BrandonF » Sun Apr 04, 2010 6:01 pm

We just had an earthquake here in southern California. I just looked it up and found out it was a 6.9 magnitude earthquake originating somewhere around the Gulf Of California. Here in San Diego, we felt it pretty bad. It lasted about 30-40 seconds with quite a bit of shaking. It was scary, as it just kept going! We're expecting aftershocks, (There have already been a few) so we're prepared. I feel bad for the people near the epicenter, as they probably have some damage.

[color=#000000]Hope it's not a warning. Might be time to move to a no fault zone.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

My brother in law in LA felt it, so it doesn't surprise me that you felt it too, a1. Much of a shake or what was it like? He said he was quite used to it after living there for so long

It was enough to rattle the windows. Sitting under the table, I felt the shaking, so it was pretty scary. You could here it well too. I couldn't believe how long it lasted. About 30-45 seconds!  :o

A rattle to a rolling motion. It was rolling because I my area is a bit away form the epicenter. I'd imagine a jerking motion near the epicenter.
