I'm back

Postby patchz » Mon Mar 29, 2010 11:54 pm

I'm on the Aurora and it is working fine. But I have yet to hook up the speakers and there is a problem with the monitor stand. The top of the screen is tilted forward about 25 degrees and I can't get it to tilt back. So it is a little difficult to see. But it is rather large. And I need to adjust the brightness/contrast but haven't learned how yet. Don't have FS loaded yet either. It did not get here until late this afternoon and I'm slow. I love the lighted keyboard. For the first time, I am sitting in the dark and can see the keyboard. Well it's not completely dark. There are the lights on the case. Hope to get Fs loaded tomorrow and then we will see what this puppy can do. I decided to call it Yoshi.

Ok, update. I spent several hours on the phone/chat with Dell and Alienware over the last three days. I did not get any help at all, until I was finally transferred to Alienware, who did not pass the buck, even though it was not their fault. After about an hour, he tells me they are going to ship a replacement within the next 24 hours, due in 48.

Part 2 - The speakers. He finally got the right front and right rear to work in stereo mode and told me I needed an optical cable to make all six work. I spent another hour searching Dell, Logitech (they made the speaker system) and Newegg trying to find out exactly what cable to buy. Finally sent an email to Logitech support and hope to have an answer by tomorrow. THEN, I am going to Radioshack and buy a cable. That way, if it's not the right one, I can take it back and exchange it.

Part 3 - FS
Lookout SimV members, this one is going to take a lot of help.

I too have a [glow=yellow,2,300]Dell[/glow] monitor but opted for the one without the 25 degree tilt
