If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Sorry pointless, but at least the save the gay whale vegetarian wicker bike riders will feel superior for an hour.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

What does surprise me is the list of actions you can take... I mean, people don't do that already? Turning your lights off if you're away from the room for more than 15 minutes? If I plan to go for just a few minutes I do that. Turn off games consoles when not in use? Why keep it on if you're not using it? I even download things to it when it's in 'power saving mode' too.

As for putting your computer into sleep mode, what's wrong with plain ol' turning it off?

I want more nuclear power and fewer 'schemes'. They complain about massive power usage yet they keep road lights on all night (they could probably dim those a bit too). They don't stop the rise in bus prices (sorry Arriva, but I'd rather take the car than travel on your overpriced buses) and all the other things like that.

I won't be taking part. I will, however, invest in useful and long term schemes and vote for whoever says they will help provide those plans as well. An hour would hardly do anything... There's another 8764 hours in this year when we'll carry on exactly as before.

8-)

Earth Hour... Nonsense. Turning off the lights for 1 hour. I turn off the lights in my house every day for at least 18 hours....

Carlo ;) (Environmental awareness is another way of paying tax...)

The point of Earth Hour is not, by itself, save the environment - as obviously 1 out of 8000 hours per year is not going to make a difference. The idea is to show support for ways of mitigating global warming; the larger cut in power consumption during earth hour over a normal day, the more support is shown. That being said, I want to help the environment, but I also want to keep the lights on - the only way to do that is through Nuclear power.

I'm looking at ways of harnessing alternative energy.. and the best way I've found is wiring up a dynamo to my missus' jaw.. I'd power half of South London in one gossip session with her mates...
