Saving for the future, by holding on to the past

My old electronic stuff is starting to pile up. Everything from 36 inch 400 pound tv to tiny outdated transisters. Hundreds of cd's. dried up printers, old scanners, speakers, cables, and things I can't remember what they do!
Time for a massive culling. Anyone else have this saving electronics stuff infliction? Being I have only been into computers for 10 years, I am amazed at the collection of old stuff neatly stacked on shelves. I do know how to build a proper shelf, so that could be the problem right there.   :)

I have been collecting various Electronic apparatus since the end of WW II when Government War Surplus equipment came on to the market...!

I spent many years designing and building Valve Radio Receivers and Transmitters, Audio Amplifiers, and and Television apparatus in my Garden shed!

I still have my old ex Army Radio Transmitter/Receivers, Instruments, electronic components, resistors, capacitors, tuning condensers, transformers, including boxes of Thermonic Radio Valves, etc...etc...infinitum....
...not to mention bedrooms and sheds full of various Computer equipment dating back to the 1970's...

I never throw anything away, so you can imagine what my house looks like!... ... ...!

I get all emotional when I have to heave something in the bin. Especially when it used to be state of the art. Maybe it'll come back in style, like bellbottom Levi's

I don't ,I earn my live working electronics ,my house must have like 3 Tons of literaly garbage ,screen TV ,Old plasmas and tubes all sizes ,TV

We have a 1949 Lionel train set, purchased new, and every once in a while my wife lets me play with it.  (think good thoughts)

I regret tossing my plastic model B-25 long ago.  I outgrew all the others, but that one was really cool.

But hey, I still got my 1950 Lionel set too!

Put that junk to use! Old disk drive and printers contain stepper motors which can be used to make small wind turbines. I've been charging AA NiCd's with a turbine build around a stepper from a scanner/copier/printer.
