Mrs Lettieri, 72, left her handbag behind, with more than $21,000 of the group's travelling money, jewellery worth thousands more, and some of their passports.

$21,000 in her handbag! :o It amazes me how much cash people carry around with them. It almost broke my heart when I left my wallet on the bus with 70 quid in it. Sadly it was never returned. :'(
