First aid is required in my company. Fortunately we aren't sworn to the hippocratic oath. So if we don't like someone who is injured.. , Well, nevermind.   :)  ;D

I am a youth first aider for St John's Ambulance (cadet level 2). Theres about a dozen teachers at my school who are first aiders too, but we've been taught the more modern version so they are now doing it wrong.

It's mandatory in my line of work to have a first aid certificate and a training in the basics of firefighting.

I am an airport firefighter, and also a volunteer firefirefighter on a department that runs an EMS service.  I have CPR/AED and first aid training for the medical side of things.

It's a mandatory annual tick for the UK military too. All the basic stuff, plus a little bit of added content into a few injuries that don't apply to everyday first aiders and their courses. :)

I only know the basics. Most of which I have read from the Red Cross Manuals and other medical texts.

The basics is way much better than knowing nothing and panicking in a situation. ;)
