A real story about yesterdays hunt for deer.

Postby A-10 » Tue Dec 29, 2009 1:39 pm

well let me tell you, it has indeed been a weird day. First off I put on my ghillie, grabbed my rifle and then I was off, well I'm outside now and my two dogs followed me and at the time I didn't know until I heard a stick snap so I turn around and I look down and see my dogs the a take them and put them on the chains so after that was done I went down the trail to my food plot and all of a sudden I hear these leaves rustling I thought it was a deer at first so I stopped and looked around and I didn't see anything then I relize it's down on the ground so I take a step forward and then out of nowhere what I called a deer jumped from a fence (mind you the (deer) was an armadillo) and I had no idea how it got up there but anyways as it's flying through the air I just about died from the surprise it pulled which and the surprise of course was when it jumped from the fence-post then it lands on the ground as runs into me but before I noticed that I thought I was about to get hit by a car (armadillos sound like cars) so I turned around to see if a car was coming, but as I said before it was an armadillo then that is when I relized I got hit by an armadillo then a little while after that occurance I left without my deer which I didn't see, so that's the story of an armadillo attacking me.

That's hillarious is it not.      I would like some replies to this just to keep it going.

Could be worse, in Hungary the hunting of deer and wild boar is still part of the culture. One of my friends got into the whole Robin Hood malarky and went out with us armed with his bow and arrow (the rest of us had more sensible weapons based around gun powder, and we all knew how to climb trees) and he got mowed down by a particularly irate hairy pig and spent a couple of weeks in hospital and several more weeks on crutches till his legs started working again ;D ;D ;D
Being Robin Hood is fine, messing with 200Kgs of homicidal bacon with an attitude problem is DUMB ;D ;D ;D

[color=#000000]No, armadillo do not sound like cars. They sound like a herd of elephants when the leaves are dry on the ground.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I would like to go hunting or even just shooting and a range, but my parents don't like the idea of that  :(

Hehe my friend went to a military shooting range in china (His granddad was an Officer back in his day) and he was firing some small pistol (with full rifle butts) and he wanted to fire an AK, so they have him an old AK-47, he shot one round, down, 4 feet away on his ass  ;D ;D ;D, his Granddad picked up the AK, fired a small burst and hit the target near dead  ;D ;D :o :o

I remember being on my great-uncles farm in Australia as a kid and the troubles we had getting the cows on the wagon to go and make a career move at the Golden Arches ;D ;D ;D

well let me tell you this, when I was 6 or 7 I shot at a foam target with my .50 cal. it was maybe football field distance from a stand but then I notcied something white that wasn't there before I got to the stand so I said I'm gonna go for it, I aim down to where I thought it's neck should be and I gently squeezed the trigger hoping I hit white thing, and mind you when I pulled the trigger that stand just about tipped over, so anyways I got down from the stand and walked over to what I shot at and I turns out that it was a rabbit it looked awsome I blew it's face off I had to pick it up by the right side of what was left of it's face meaning I grabbed it's ear.
