[color=#000000]Reading the article, I came to the conclusion there was a large pothole or some type of construction that caused him to veer off the road. My questions are why was he traveling fast enough to cause that much injury/damage just leaving his residence and where was he going at that time of night/morning? Seems there are some unrevealed issues here.

I read that his wife rescued him using a driver to knock out the rear window (seriously)

Now come on, you can't make it out your own damn driveway without ruining your SUV?   ::)

Statement from Tiger Woods (Sunday afternoon)

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

I wonder if the police would have been so understanding if the driver was named Joe Bloggs instead of Tiger Woods. Probably not.

That sounds very much like a caution. As far as I'm aware Woods was not arrested.

Of course he wasn't arrested.  Joe Bloggs wouldn't have been arrested either.

But Joe Bloggs wouldn't have immediately hired a lawyer to tell him that he doesn't have to talk to the police.  The police wouldn't have mentioned this to Joe while they were investigating, only after he admitted to something and was arrested.

No alcohol involved?  My take on the matter is that a bit of a 'domestic' erupted into the Mrs. taking up a driver and chasin' his butt around the house a bit....then he decided to vacate the premesis post-haste.....as he drove away she put the club through the rear window....in his effort to avoid the club he lost it at speed and the collision ensued.

Besides, the rear window rescue story looks to be TOTAL b.s. anyway!  Both doors were operable!  Why attempt to "rescue" thru the rear window on a large SUV?

AND!, if the facial injuries he suffered were actually from the crash, then there would've been some sort of evidence in the interior of the vehicle (i.e. blood).

I'm not a betting man, but I'd put a buck or two on she was whoppin' his a$$ and he ran......why else would someone leave their driveway at high speed at 2:30 in the morning?
