I feel bad for that shark though... that looks quite the painful injury... :o :'(

I don't know to believe it or not. The story and precautions are real enough but that injury is incredible. :o

Good old Auntie Beeb (The BBC) is currently screening a new natural history programme called Life. It shows in detail the daily life and death struggles in nature. I believe that they have footage of Great White Sharks being attacked by Orca (Killer Whales), the first time this behaviour has been seen.

Extremely likely to be extinct. Self extinction through over-feeding and no longer having any food sources large enough seems to be the popular opinion.

Besides, if it were a Meg; that bite would be a LOT bigger. I can stand in the jaws of one (At 6'2'', that's a BIG bite).

I'm not sure any species can be proven to be extinct. I think it's most likely that this was caused by another Great White.
