We were taught the correct way to hold a pen before being taught to write.

Thats the correct way to hold a pen :o

If you mean my photo, that's an example of the way a lot of people hold pens nowadays. I can't imagine how they can write properly like that.

This is the way were were taught to hold a pen. http://www.tpub.com/content/draftsman/14263/css/14263_277.htm

That is how I learned how to write with a pen. I can't imagine any other way to be as easy, comfortable, or practical.

Now I'm the one that's confused. LOL

Which way do you mean? :D

I see the confusion... :-[

I'm referring to the picture in this webpage that you posted:

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

For right-handed Folks, (me,) the correct way to hold the knife and fork at the dining table, for eating purposes is;

Fork in the left hand.
Knife in the right hand.

(The opposite, is generally true for left-handed Folks).

I use my hands... :) ;D
Especially for soup! ;D
So do I-- at least one of them, anyway. Tryiing to flip the soup from the filled spoon I've been holding with my teeth usually get's most of the soup on my face and surroundings. I do much better when holding a utensil with one of my hands.
