Genuphobia!!

Postby expat » Sun Sep 13, 2009 1:29 pm

Well, I bet you either Googled it or clicked the Link. Never heard of it myself, but as weird phobias come and go, it is an odd one. So, what weird phobias can be found at SimV? I myself are terrified of moths (mottephobia). One in the room, I am out of said room. Worst experience, sat outside in the summer, drinking a beer, picked up my glass, took a mouthful and felt a strange "fluttering" in my mouth, spate out onto the table and laying in a pool of beer was a large wet moth. My evening was over, I lay on the bed and sweated buckets with every hair on my body erect. I can't even look at a picture without the hairs on my neck raising. Strangely enough, butterfly's don't do anything for me. Even took the children to a butterfly farm during the summer.

Cynophobia. I was once terrified of dogs. I managed to overcome that when I was about 40 years old. Oddly enough I'm now quite fond of them.

I'm not keen on mice & rats but can't say I have any real phobias now. Oh, I hate those darned urban foxes that regularly visit my garden despite doing everything I can think of to stop them. >:(

I actually do have a phobia; a mild form of Lygophobia. I'm afraid of the dark. Always had it. As long as there is a little light, no problem. But a place where it's utter and pitch dark.... no way.

Crash ;)

I will be in the UK next month, I could come by with a shotgun. I find them quite good at "removing" an unwanted Charlie :-X

Thanks for the offer Matt but I think the neighbours might object to that. I can see the headlines now. :o

I have a fear (well, not that I get terrified but it is certainly a complete dislike) for getting water in my eyes.

I think it got triggered when I was scuba diving. I was practising taking off my goggles and putting them back on and getting the water back out. Unfortunately I did it wrong, got all the water in my eyes and lost my bearings and couldn't really tell where I was. I think that might've started it.

Fozzphobia.

Dogs have it.

Their natural yearning is to devour me alive whenever they see me.

(Probably an inherent dislike of Motorcyclists?)... ::)...!
